  • Gerald Goh elevates to Executive Chairman, APAC, to lead groupwide capital markets and fundraising, oversee investor relations, and drive key strategic initiatives and stakeholder relationships
  • Sygnum is accelerating the digital wealth strategy for Asia. The combined leadership pairs Sygnum’s Swiss-Singaporean regulatory heritage with deep Asian wealth management expertise serving both private clients & intermediaries, positioning the Group to meet rising demand for trusted and regulated access to digital assets.

Singapore, 3 August 2026 — Reto Marx has joined Sygnum, the global digital asset banking group, as Chief Executive Officer of Sygnum Singapore. In parallel, Gerald Goh, Sygnum Co-Founder and current APAC CEO, transitions to the role of Executive Chairman of Sygnum APAC, leading Groupwide capital markets and fundraising efforts, investor relations, and key strategic initiatives of the firm, particularly in the Asia Pacific region.

The appointments reinforce Sygnum’s commitment to Singapore as its APAC hub and the gateway through which the Group serves high-net-worth investors, family offices, and institutional partners across the region.

Reto joins Sygnum from VP Bank, where he most recently served as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Co-Head Singapore and Chief Risk Officer, Asia of VP Bank Singapore. Over a 25-year career across UBS, Credit Suisse, Bank Sarasin and VP Bank, he held senior leadership roles spanning private banking, intermediary business, products and risk management across Singapore and Hong Kong, including Head of Client Business, Head of Hong Kong, Chief Representative Officer, and APAC Regional Head for Global Financial Intermediaries at UBS Wealth Management. A Swiss national with more than two decades on the ground in Asia, he will bring a distinctive combination of Swiss private banking heritage and deep Asian market knowledge, closely aligned with Sygnum’s own Swiss-Singapore identity.

“Reto’s appointment is part of our continued effort to further strengthen our senior leadership team in Singapore and Asia as we move into the next phase of growth,” said Gerald Goh, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman, Sygnum APAC. “With his extensive experience in wealth management across Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia, Reto is well placed to drive our digital wealth strategy forward and deepen our engagement with clients and institutional partners in the APAC region. Beyond being a strong leader on the sales and business development side, Reto will also bring significant expertise in the development of products & services as well as on risk management and regulatory topics, which will further bolster our organisational resilience as we scale.”

In his new role, Gerald will focus on Sygnum’s longer-term strategic agenda at Group level, working closely with Group CEO Mathias Imbach and the Board of Directors to lead capital markets and fundraising activities, oversee investor relations and be responsible for key stakeholder relationships and driving key strategic initiatives.

“Sygnum stands at a unique intersection – Swiss banking platform with regulatory rigour and Singapore’s position as Asia’s wealth hub add up to the most credible digital asset banking platform in the market,”
said Reto Marx, CEO, Sygnum Singapore. “Asian wealth is increasingly seeking trusted, regulated access to digital assets as part of a diversified portfolio. I am excited to work with Gerald, the leadership team, and our clients and partners to translate that demand into the next phase of growth for Sygnum in the region.”
