Sygnum Bank recognised as top five growth stage start-ups in Swiss Fintech Awards 2020

On January 11th 2020 Sygnum was nominated as one of the top five start-ups in the growth stage category of Finanz und Wirtschaft’s Swiss Fintech Awards 2020.

This award is organised by Finanz und Wirtschaft, a premier Swiss business publication, and promotes the most innovative Swiss fintech start-ups which are contributing to the fintech ecosystem. Out of hundreds of applicants, only ten start-ups were selected by a prestigious jury of fintech experts across two categories; early stage start-ups and growth stage start-ups.

The growth stage start-up category, which Sygnum was nominated for, identifies businesses which have demonstrated product-market fit and are already on a growth trajectory. Other start-ups in this category are Instimatch Global, PriceHubble, Securosys and Yova.

Sygnum’s Swiss Fintech Awards journey started with a Bootcamp on January 21st, attended by Martin Burgherr, Chief Client Officer, Gorazd Ocvirk, Head Fintech and DLT Services, and Gavin Pacini, Head Blockchain Enginnering. At the Bootcamp, a network of influential speakers from organizations such as Accenture and Partners Group discussed ways to speed up the development of the Swiss fintech ecosystem.

The next step is on February 25th with a “speed dating” event, where each team will deliver a five-minute pitch, followed by a Q&A with the jury. At the culmination of the speed-dating event, three teams will be selected to go forward to the awards ceremony taking place on March 12th in Zurich, after Finanz und Wirtshaft’s annual conference FinTech 2020.

2019 has truly been a momentous year of firsts for Sygnum

“We are very excited to have been nominated as one of the top five innovators in the premier Swiss fintech awards. 2019 has truly been a momentous year of firsts for Sygnum, and we couldn’t have imagined a more successful start in the New Year. We would like to thank the jury, as well as our strategic partners, for recognizing our work and giving us a chance to innovate the Swiss fintech scene.”
