Leslie Teo is an Industry Advisor for Sygnum. He is the Head of Data Science, Policy and Data Initiatives at Grab Holdings Inc.
He was formally Chief Economist and Director of Economics and Investment Strategy at GIC Private Limited (GIC), where he and his team were responsible for asset allocation and developing new investment ideas. Prior to GIC, Leslie was at the International Monetary Fund where he was Deputy Division Chief and Assistant to the Director of the Asian Department.
Leslie started his career as an economist at the IMF in 1996, and has also served at the Monetary Authority of Singapore. He serves on the Board of Directors of the National University of Singapore, and the Pacific Pension and Investment Institute.
Leslie graduated from the University of Chicago with a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences, and holds a Master in Information and Data Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a PhD from the University of Rochester.
