Who are Sygnum’s clients?
Sygnum provides accounts for professional and institutional investors, corporates, DLT companies, banks and other financial institutions. We do not onboard retail clients and individuals or entities from the US or from any sanctioned countries.
What is the minimum requirement to qualify as a private qualified investor?
According to the Swiss Financial Services Act (FinSA) a private individual can qualify as a private qualified investor if the individual has the knowledge required to comprehend the risks of the investments, based on their education and professional or comparable financial industry sector experience, and also holds assets of at least CHF 500,000.
Is there a minimum investment/deposit amount required to open an account?
Sygnum requests a deposit or trading volume of at least CHF 100,000 to start a business relationship with private qualified investors. For corporate and institutional clients, the requirements vary and can be discussed with our onboarding specialists. How do I start the Sygnum onboarding process?

How long does the onboarding process take?
Typically, we open private client accounts within two weeks, and institutional clients within four-to-six weeks after all necessary documentation is completed. In complex onboarding cases, this process may take longer.
Does Sygnum charge for onboardings?
Onboarding for private individuals is free of charge. Different screening or opening fees apply for corporate and institutional clients. Please contact us for more information.
