The Sygnum 2026 APAC Tokenization Report
Much of what is said about tokenization comes from the people building it, framed by market forecasts running into the trillions. This report takes the opposite approach, asking investors themselves. Fielded through an independent panel of 212 high-net-worth and professional investors across Asia (most of them in Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea), it sets out where the region’s investors genuinely stand.
Rather than replacing traditional finance, digital assets are increasingly complementing it. Investors are building hybrid portfolios combining cryptocurrencies, tokenized securities and traditional assets, while regulated custody, stablecoins and tokenized funds continue to mature — signaling that tokenization is moving beyond experimentation into mainstream portfolio construction.
The picture emerging from both global and APAC research is increasingly consistent: institutional investors are looking beyond short-term market cycles and positioning for a financial system that is becoming progressively more digital, programmable and on-chain. The findings that follow trace who is leading this shift, what is drawing fresh capital into tokenized assets, and the question investors are asking with growing urgency as their allocations grow.
